Who we are
Radi-Call is a group of conservative Anabaptist youth from different states and church backgrounds who share a common love for Jesus Christ.
Why we exist
We exist to glorify Jesus Christ. We are blessed with this opportunity inasmuch as He has chosen and adopted us as children, to be partakers of His glorious kingdom. It is our deepest desire that our writing would be God-centered, Gospel-driven, and Bible-saturated. Our hope is that this would strengthen, encourage, and challenge youth to become God-besotted, Christ-exalting, joyfully self-forgetting men and women after God’s own heart.
It is our mission to use writing to inspire young Anabaptists to follow Christ wholeheartedly.
Why Radi-Call
The logic behind Radi-Call is two-fold.
First, “Radi” refers to the word radical. However, it is not used in the form commonly thought of today. The word is derived from the Latin word “radix,” which literally means ‘root’. According to the New Oxford American Dictionary it means, “of, or springing direct from, the root or stem base of a plant” in reference to Botany. In Revelation 22:16, Jesus refers to himself as “the root”. Then in John 15 He pictures Himself as a vine in which all believers abide to find nourishment.
Second, we are calling Anabaptist youth back to The Root. We live in treacherous days, in which youth are being attacked from all sides. It is our firm conviction that in order to remain faithful to Christ, we must be rooted in the One True Root. Therefore, our call is to challenge youth to be rooted and grounded in Jesus Christ and His Word.
Jeremiah 6:16
“Thus says the Lord: ‘stand by the roads, and look to the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.”
The Millennials (Generation Y) have grown up in a world which views history as unnecessary. This is our theme verse because we firmly believe that understanding history correctly is invaluable for keeping our lives on course. Jeremiah lived in such a time as we live, where men did not desire to hear truth. Nevertheless, when men divorce themselves from truth, chaos ensues. In a world of pluralism and confusion, there endures one sure path: Jesus Christ, who says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life”, is this sure path. In the midst of turmoil, Jesus remains the steadfast rest for our souls.
